Happy New Year to our Snowtruffles family and friends.  I hope you have all had a very enjoyable Christmas and very best wishes for this year.  I am delighted to say thank you to those of you who sent Christmas cards and greetings.  It is always good to hear from you.  My apologies for not sending you cards.  I was more than a little distracted with Lilli's puppies.  Happily the puppies have all settled into their new homes.  Have a super 2013!

And then there were none.  Today is a day of mixed emotions.  I am sad having said goodbye to the last of my babies.  I am also happy for the puppies because they have gone to loving families and will be treated like royalty.  The house seems awfully quiet without them.  The older Bichons are relaxing around my feet, glad to have their old spot to themselves without puppies climbing all over them and chewing their ears or tails. I look forward to being able to keep you posted on their progress.  New owners have said they will send the occasional photo or progress report.

Have a very happy Christmas and best wishes to you all for the New Year.

The time has really flown, the puppies were eight weeks old on Tuesday.  We were up early, puppies were shampooed, dried and combed to look really smart for our trip to see Marni (our vet).  A really good friend came with us to help, she was a God send.  Everyone behaved very well.  They all had a good check over by Marni, they had their jabs and no squealing. The result was all in good health and raring to go.  Back home again for dinner and a well earned drink, that's the puppies not me.  My dinner came later. The first of the puppies leaves for her new home tomorrow.  It will be sad to say goodbye to her, but I know she's going to a good home and will be well loved.   I'll keep you posted as to how everyone else is getting along.  Lilli has gone off to the groomer to make her look fabulous for tomorrow.

Puppy number 3 was collected at Exeter Airport by her new Mum and Aunty who are going to love her to bits.  It has become much quieter now that there are only two puppies with me.  We had a lovely family visit today and they have decided to have one of the puppies.  She will go to her new home on Friday.  Her new family are very nice and will take great care or her and love as much as I do.  'And then there was one'.  I shall keep her if a buyer doesn't appear in the next week or two.  We've had a busy few days, so I haven't taken any new pictures.  I will do my best to get a couple of photos of the two little girls before Friday.

The puppies are almost 8 weeks old (Tuesday 27th Nov they will be).  They are much more active now and are sharing the whole of the lounge.  They are having great fun hiding behind their bed/crate.  They also like chasing each other around it, they are very quick on their feet.  I have had to place sections of the playpen in front of the tv stand so they can't get  at the wires.  I've even had to barricade the coffee table so they can't get under there to chew more wires and my knitting.  They just love running around under the sofas, fortunately, they are high enough for puppies to get in and out without getting stuck.  They also enjoy chewing the straps on my camera bags.  Thankfully they can't get at the cameras.

They just love their toys especially the noisy ones they will often play tug with them.  I bought a set of little tennis balls for them which are just the right size for their little mouths.  They love them, unfortunately so do mum, gran, gr uncle and gr gran, so the puppies have to wait until the grown ups have gone to bed before they can play with them.  They quite like this because it means they have much more space to run around in.

On Tuesday they will be having a thorough bath, rather than a quick dip.  After which a really good friend is coming over to help us all get to the vet.  They will be getting their vet checks and first vaccination.  Previous litters have been very good and not squealed, I am keeping my fingers crossed that this litter will be the same.  I'll keep you posted on how they get on.  The next big event for them is moving to their new homes.  I shan't know what to do with myself without my babies!
